Our ready-to-lay brown and white Layer birds have been selected to be the most suitable for our local husbandry systems and climate challenges. Our breeds are ideally suited for local and regional commercial and backyard production.
Locally-grown layer hens are reared with the recommended nutrients profiles, medication and vaccinated to ensure a productive life and resistance to the environmental parasites and diseases.
Ready-to-lay pullets are made available at sixteen to eighteen weeks of age, and will usually start to drop eggs in one to two weeks. The intermediate period allows birds to adjust to the change in environment, feeding patterns and minimise complications during transportation.
